			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I generally don&#8217;t post much during the winter months. I tend to stay out of the cold and couldn&#8217;t imagine working on the bike unless I had a heated garage, which I don&#8217;t. But this is an excellent opportunity to clean out my closet and sell a bunch of stuff that is taking up space.</p>
<p>1. I need to get rid of my bulk LED bulbs. Ebay auction up now.<br />

<p>2. I am finally going to replace the clutch lever with the one I got off a 2006 Honda CBR. This means I&#8217;m getting rid of the left hand controls, which means I&#8217;m giving up on my turn signals. So I&#8217;ll have four very nice LED turn signals for sale pretty soon as well has the original left hand controls.</p>
<p>3. I&#8217;ve also decided to get rid of the pressure controlled brake light switch under the headlight which means I&#8217;m going to get a single stainless steel brake line that goes from the brake lever to the pad. So I&#8217;ll have my nearly brand new stainless steel two piece brake line plus the brake light switch for sale.</p>
<p>This will allow me to drop the headlight a few more inches, something I wasn&#8217;t able to do because that brake light switch was stopping it from going any lower. So essentially, I&#8217;m stripping the bike down even more which is something I should have done last summer.</p>
<p>And I may just sell the whole bike this spring. I haven&#8217;t made a final decision yet, but after having a baby I haven&#8217;t had nor will I have any time at all to work on motorcycles. I need a maintenance free bike, or something that is close to maintenance free.</p>

<p>I lost my digital camera a few weeks ago, hence the few posts, but luckily the iPhone takes okay photos. Here is the unboxing of the Morgan Carbtune. It comes with everything you need: The Carbtune, several hoses, and some black plastic adapters.</p>

<p>As you can see the brass adapters come in two sizes, long and extra long, to easily reach the inner two carbs. I suppose the length is the main advantage to the much smaller black plastic adapters. They went on easily and came off just as good. I imagine that being brass they will last much longer than the plastic ones.</p>

<p>All four carbs had a small vacuum plug which was essentially just a short 6mm screw. Step one was to unscrew the vacuum ports and screw in the brass adapters on all four carbs.</p>

<p>I have had nothing but good experiences with Motion Pro. I got my brass adapters and the carb sync tool from them.</p>

<p>Here is a shot before the tank was pulled. I used a camera tripod to hang the Morgan Carbtune to be able to see it better.</p>

<p>Ultimately, this is how I set up my carb sync procedure: I got two basic run of the mill cinder blocks and stacked them on top of each other. I then placed the blocks as close as I could to the bike, even folding up the foot peg to get the bricks closer to the frame. After the bricks were in place I sat the tank on them with the petcock facing toward the frame. One of my fuel hoses (carbs 1 and 2) was close enough to connect to the petcock, the other fuel hose I had to extend using a fuel hose extension adapter.</p>

<p>Carb syncing was fairly easy to setup but doing it was another story. Carb syncing is not really a science or an art, its more of an acquired skill. To much precision is involved in balancing four carbs as well as taking into consideration locking down the lock nuts once its synced. You could have the carbs sucking perfectly but then once you tighten one of the lock nuts they are out of sync again. For the unapt it becomes a trial and error learning experience. Unlike the stories I&#8217;ve read on the forums about vacuum syncing being a piece of cake and a relatively short process, my syncing took place over two mornings just to learn the process and get it right.</p>
<p>I did notice both an audible tactile difference when the carbs were finally in sync and as you can see from the video below, my carbs were desperately out of sync. This is not something I want to do again and again, in fact, I&#8217;ve grown to somewhat dislike carburetors and see the appeal of digital fuel injectors.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The other day I noticed that my 3 and 4 cylinders weren&#8217;t firing. Some basic trouble shooting led me to the carbs and upon checking the float bowls I noticed that they were completely empty of fuel. I figured my cylinder firing problem was a result of fuel starvation and I was right. Much like the rest of my experiences with this bike I had to correct issues that the previous owner had caused. This particular issue was with the fuel line routing. The black hoses were not being fed through the correct stock route (through the carb body). The carbs have two perfect circular holes where the lines feed through so there is a constant downward slope. A simple fix, but may as well get some clear line in there to see the fuel actually reaching the carbs.</p>
<p>I went to Cycle Gear here in town and picked up some HELIX 1/4 inch clear blue fuel line.<br />
