Great question. I'm not sure what the amp rating is. I picked up these switches at my local Radio Shack I only had two criteria for choosing the switches. 1. They had to have the proper poles and 2. They needed to be itty bitty. I assume that since the bike is running a 12v system that any switch at Radio Shack would be adequate. I could of course be wrong but I haven't had any problems yet. HI.
